TECH PACK DEVELOPMENT
A detailed and accurate tech pack is a the foundation for getting your garments produced on time and on budget. No need to waste time on back and forth between you and your pattern maker and manufacturer answering simple questions. With a bit of planning and time, you can make a great tech pack that tells the whole story, reduces errors and ultimately saves you time and money.
Accurate costing is essential for a successful garment. As a designer, you need to know exactly how much fabric and trim you will need, as well as how to accurately reflect the cost of everything else that goes into your products.
This workshop will walk you thorugh exactly how to go about creating a good costing sheet, and put you back in control over the budget.
Day 2 (Tuesday 12/17, 6.30pm to 9.30pm); Instructor Margaret May
CONSTRUCTION AND MEASUREMENTS
Margaret will walk you through what construction and measurement details to include in a great tech pack. She will teach you how to answer questions like:
- What are the line items you need to have in your tech pack?
- What callouts should you make?
- What measurements to include?
- How do you incorporate colorways efficiently?
- Should you include a cutters must?
- And many more....
By the end of this class you will have completed a professional, well-detailed tech pack!
